We are thrilled with the options we have for classes and are grateful to all of our wonderful instructors.  We are presenting these to you by day and then by time.  Each day we have both a 10:30 class and a 1:30 class.  The morning classroom opens at 10 am to give all of us the chance to greet each other, say hello and check in.  The formal class begins at 10:30.  The afternoon classroom opens at 1:15 to provide people with the same opportunity.  You will see that on Monday and Friday mornings, the only class is the Morning Coffee Hour.

MONDAYS

Peggy Palmiter will be offering a technology series in the afternoons on Monday.  She will provide classes in both the Apple and the Android platform, and may also throw in a little bit of Windows on the side.  The important thing here is that you make sure to fill out the survey so we can better plan the classes you want to see.

TUESDAYS

The Interactive Consitution

Be surprised by what you don’t know.

10:30 am – The Interactive Constitution

Richard Botters is returning to lead this class.  We talk about the constitution all the time, but if we are truly honest, we must admit there is a great deal about this founding document we do not know.

Using the Constitution Center’s Interactive Website, additional materials and our own discussions, we will discuss the Constitution and explore the Bill of Rights.  Each week’s materials will be available on our website on our Constitution Page, including additional materials you can review on your own.

While we are aware that there are many who talk about the constitution in our present political debates, that is not the main purpose of this session.  We hope to come away with a clearer understanding of this foundational document, those parts where there is mainstream agreement, and then parts that continue to be under debate even today.  Come and join us.

1:30 pm – Illustrated Discovery Journey – Sept 8th – 29th

Join Zandra Matthews and Terry Preston as they take us on an amazing journey.  Each participant will receive an Intentional Mindfulness Journal that we will be using to help us learn to be both intentional and mindful during this extraordinary times.

We will provide each participant with a packet of tools for your own journey, as well as resources you can choose to add to your list.  There will be a contactless pick up of your packets and an opportunity to select additional graphic resources prior to the class.  That includes magazines, glitter, paper, and stickers.

Just click to start the video and learn even more.

Aging in extraordinary times

Aging Today – Dr. Lois Ricci – October 6th – 27th

No one can argue that these times are truly extraordinary.  And we are learning that this reality is having a significant impact on us as we age.  But we have choices, tools and responses that can make a difference – as we learned during our discovery journey in the first half of this series.  Learn how our choices and our experiences make the difference in how we manage these times.  The silent generation and the baby boomers each have their own perspectives on where we are and how we can move forward.  Come and join the conversation with Dr. Ricci who has 40 years working in the field of gerontology.

WEDNESDAYS
